With over 30 years of professional
playing and nearly 10 years teaching experience Steve has
passed on his drumset knowledge to students of all ages and
skill levels. His expertise, derived from years of study,
disciplined practice and diverse musical experiences including
touring, recording and TV work has been an inspiration
for hundreds of veteran and novice drummers reaching for and
achieving incredible levels of playing skill through his private
instruction.
Steve’s young protegé Anthony Di Millo at the
ripe old age of 14 has already played on stage with world
renowned drummer/clinician Dom Famularo at the Montreal Drum
Festival and won a coveted spot by auditioning to play snare
drum on stage with Shania Twain on her hit “If You’re
Not In It For Love” in front of thousands of people
at Ottawa’s Corel Centre.
Connor Whitehead, 15, also a great young talent and student
of Steve’s was the youngest of 18 teenagers chosen from
hundreds of applicants across the country to compete in “Rock
Camp” a CBC TV reality based show featuring four bands
battling it out for a shot at a recording contract with EMI.
Here are some testimonials from some
of Steve’s students:
“The chance to learn from a legend is immeasurable.
Drummers from the Ottawa area are indeed fortunate to have
the opportunity to work with Steve. His vast experience and
easy going nature make lessons fun, informative and inspirational.”

“Steve is a great music teacher because I’ve learned
more with him in a few lessons than I’ve learned in
a year with any other music teacher. I can play things I thought
I would never be able to play. It seems like there is nothing
he doesn’t know about drumming.”
Roma Shah

great teacher and an inspiration to drummers and non-drummers
alike.”
